ECS announces Cetin "Chet" Soydemir, Ph.D. has earned licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Maine. Dr. Soydemir is a Geotechnical Consulting Engineer based in ECS' Woburn, MA office.
Dr. Soydemir is also a PE in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. He has over 30 years of experience and specializes in geotechnical-earthquake engineering. His experience in this arena includes seismic stability of slopes and landfills, grading and embankment dams, earthquake-induced liquefaction, settlements, lateral spreading, lateral earth pressures, and dynamic soil-structure interaction.
His experience includes participating in the design of the U.S. Embassy buildings in Caracas, Venezuela and Singapore, regions of relatively high seismicity. Local projects include a central artery/tunnel in Boston, landfills, foundations, dams, and piers.
